Start with words

No specs, no syntax, no setup.

Describe what you want the way you'd explain it to a friend. Australis asks a few plain-English questions, sketches a plan, and only builds once it looks right to you. Nothing is built behind your back.

Attach a logo or a reference. Pick where it saves. That's the whole setup.

Design, pages, and options come next — in the plan.

A plan before any code

Start with one page. Grow to everything.

Every build starts with a size: one polished page in about a minute, an MVP of the 3–4 core screens, or the full app built in phases you approve. Good answers are pre-picked at every step — Next, Next, Next, build.

The plan is the contract: sketches of every screen, untick what you don't need.

Canvas ↔ Code

Two doors into the same project.

One toggle at the top of the window. No exports, no handoffs, no "let me convert that for you" — Canvas and Code are the same folder on your disk.

Canvas — for the builder

A light studio. Chat, plan, point-and-edit the live app, and every build comes back verified. You never see a stack trace.

// src/components/ScopeFlow.tsx — the real file, on your disk
const STEPS = ["The size", "The idea", "The look", "The plan"];
const [step, setStep] = useState(0);
const [answers, setAnswers] = useState(questions.map((q) => q.default));

$ git commit -m "scope: size step"

Code — for the developer

A dark, honest IDE. Real files, a real terminal, git, and a code agent that proposes diffs you accept or reject. No lock-in — export everything and walk away.

Agents on your side

Ozzy builds. You approve.

In Canvas, Ozzy plans and builds with you. In Code, the agent proposes changes as reviewable diffs — accept or reject, file by file. And the Teammate surface runs your busywork with no project open at all.

Pick the coding model per build — Claude by default, or bring your own key.

Verification runs after every accept — independent of the model that wrote the code.
The honest part

Verified, not vibes.

Every build ends with receipts, not promises. Australis proves the app builds, boots, and that every page actually loads — and the labels never exceed the evidence. If something didn't pass, it says so.

And the honest part: you're never charged for a build that fails verification.

Questions, answered plainly

Do I own the code?

Yes — every project is a plain folder on your computer, in a stack you chose. Open it in Code view, in another editor, or hand it to a developer. Export everything and walk away any time; there's no lock-in.

I've never coded. Can I really use this?

That's who Canvas is for. You describe what you need in your own words, answer a few plain-English questions, and approve a plan before anything is built. You never have to see code — but it's there when someone on your team wants it.

Do I need an API key?

No — the bundled sample runs a real, verified build offline so you can try the whole flow. For your own apps during beta, you bring a model key (Claude by default; Grok, Gemini, and Kimi are supported). At launch, Pro includes built-in models.

Where does my data live?

On your machine. Projects save to a folder you choose (~/Australis by default), builds run locally, and nothing is uploaded unless you deploy or share it yourself.

What does “verified” actually mean?

After every build, Australis proves the app compiles, boots, and that each page responds — and shows you the receipt. Labels never exceed evidence: if a check didn't pass, the banner says so instead of claiming success.

What are the system requirements?

macOS 13 or newer (Apple silicon and Intel), or Windows 11 (x64 and ARM). Around 400 MB of disk, and an internet connection when you build with a cloud model.

Ready when you are.

Australis is in private beta. Request access — invites go out weekly, and beta builders keep Pro free for a year.
